The robot positioner is a special welding auxiliary equipment, suitable for welding positioning in rotary work to obtain the ideal processing position and welding speed. It can be used in conjunction with operating machines and welding machines to form an automatic welding center, and can also be used to shift workpieces during manual operations. The rotation of the workbench adopts stepless speed regulation by frequency converter, with high speed regulation accuracy. The remote control box can realize remote operation of the workbench, and can also be connected to the operating machine and welding machine control system to achieve linkage operation.

The welding robot positioner generally consists of a worktable rotation mechanism and a flipping mechanism. Through the lifting, flipping and rotation of the worktable, the workpiece fixed on the workbench reaches the required welding and assembly angle. The workbench rotation is variable frequency stepless speed regulation, and a satisfactory welding speed can be obtained.

Choice:

Usually when designing an electric-driven robot positioner solution, it is necessary to select the mechanical transmission method and corresponding transmission mechanism from the motor to the workbench. Before selection, clarify the following requirements based on the characteristics of the assembly and welding process:

(1) Functional requirements for robot displacement machinery: refers to what actions the robot displacement machinery should be able to achieve, such as translation, lifting or rotation, etc. If it is translation, is it linear translation or curved translation; if it is rotational motion, is it continuous rotation or intermittent flipping, etc.;

(2) Requirements for movement speed: Make it clear whether it is fast or slow, whether it is constant speed or variable speed, whether it is stepless speed change or stepless speed change;

(3) Requirements for transmission stability and accuracy: Robot positioners used for automatic welding require high transmission accuracy. In this case, worm transmission and gear transmission can be selected;

(4) Requirements for self-locking, overload protection, vibration absorption and other capabilities: Generally, for transmissions used for lifting or turning, as well as those with the risk of overturning, the transmission mechanism must have self-locking capabilities. There may be multiple transmission modes and their corresponding transmission mechanisms. In this case, the selection must be made after comprehensive consideration of their transmission power, size compactness, transmission efficiency and manufacturing cost.

Structure:

① Double-column single-rotation robot positioner: This type of robot positioner is suitable for the welding of rectangular structural parts of engineering machinery such as the rear frame of loaders and roller frames. Its main feature is that one end of the column is driven by a motor to drive the working device to run in one direction of rotation, and the other end is driven by the driving end. The columns on both sides can be designed to be liftable to accommodate products of different specifications. The disadvantage of this type of robot positioner is that it can only rotate in one circumferential direction. When selecting, pay attention to whether the welding seam form is suitable.

② U-shaped two-seater head-to-tail double rotation type: Compared with one type of robot positioner, the welded structural component of the two types adds another degree of rotational freedom in another space.

③L-type double-rotation welding robot positioner: This type of robot positioner has an L-shaped working device, which has two degrees of rotational freedom, and can rotate ±360° in both directions. Compared with other types of robot positioners, this robot positioner has good openness and is easy to operate. The L-type robot positioner has been successfully used in the welding of the front frame of the loader, and the use effect is very good, and it is very popular among on-site operators.

④C-type double-rotation welding robot positioner: The C-type rotation form is the same as the L-type machine, but the specific design is just to facilitate the clamping. According to the shape of the structural parts, the working device of the robot positioner is slightly changed. This type of welding robot positioner is suitable for welding loader buckets, excavator buckets, etc.

⑤ Seat-type universal robot positioner: The seat-type welding robot positioner workbench has a degree of freedom for overall flipping, which can flip the work to the ideal welding position for welding. In addition, the workbench has a degree of freedom for rotation. This kind of robot positioner is suitable for the welding of small welding parts of engineering machinery and some small and medium-sized complex structures such as pipes, shafts, plates, etc.
