I. Introduction to the Welding Workstation
This system comprises a welding robot system, dual-axis positioner, laser vision guidance system, and welding system. It automates the welding of centrifugal fan impellers, replacing manual labor. No human intervention is required during welding; operators only handle pre-welding loading and post-welding unloading. Welding trajectories are automatically guided by laser vision, with welding height, fore/aft, lateral, and rotational adjustments performed automatically.
1) Site Environment Requirements
1) Ambient Temperature: 0–45°C;
2) Relative Humidity: 20–80% RH;
3) Vibration: Vibration acceleration < 0.5g;
4) Power Supply: Three-phase 380V; Frequency: 50Hz;
Voltage fluctuation range: +10%, -15%;
Single-station capacity: Robot welding power supply: 35KVA;
5) Compressed Air: 5kgf/cm² (must be filtered to remove water and oil);
6) No corrosive gases present on-site.
2. Product and Requirements
1) Pre-welding Condition: Workpiece pre-spot welded in prior process;
2) Welding method: Gas shielded welding (80% Ar + 20% CO₂);
3) Welded product: Fan impeller; Rotating diameter range of workpiece: Centrifugal impeller 400~1200mm; Maximum workpiece weight: 400KG (including fixture).
Customization available for specifications exceeding these limits.
4) Welded and positioned areas must be free of burrs, rust, oil contamination, or other defects affecting weld quality.
5) Precision Requirements: Butt weld gap < 2.5mm; Fillet weld gap < 2.5mm.
6) Post-Welding Condition: Finished product (manual touch-up required for welding blind spots caused by fixture/workpiece/torch interference).
3. Overview
This system comprises a six-axis welding robot, Aote welding power source, P-type positioner, electrical control system, laser-guided vision system, and customized welding torch.
The workstation features signal interlocking and mutual locking between actions to prevent misoperation, enhancing overall performance.
IV. Process Flow
1. General Workpiece Requirements To adapt to robotic welding production and improve efficiency, note the following workpiece considerations:
1) Gap between butt welds and fillet welds must be less than 0.5mm (0.02 inch) of the welding wire radius;
2) Weld surfaces must be free of oil, rust, and contaminants to prevent defects like porosity. 2. Operating Procedure
3) Manually position the workpiece on the table and clamp it by hand; press the “Start” button. B. The robot activates, moves to the welding position, and completes the weld.
4) After welding, the robot resets.
5) Manually unload the workpiece to complete one work cycle.
